Vehicle charger installation, the Rolec range

We are Rolec's regional approved installer for the South of England, so the unit, the warranty and the aftercare all sit with one company.

Whichever one you end up with

What every unit has in common

The differences between these units are mostly physical. What sits behind all of them is the same, and it is usually what decides whether a scheme works.

Every unit meters its own sessions

Each charger records what it delivered, and speaks OCPP, the open protocol the main back office platforms use. That matters because it makes the platform your decision rather than ours: you are not tied to whoever installed the units, and you can move if the commercial terms change.

On a workplace it means staff and visitors can be charged different rates, or staff free and visitors charged. For a landlord it means the energy is attributable to the right tenant rather than quietly coming off the landlord's supply.

  • Session records you can reconcile against the electricity bill
  • Different rates for staff, visitors and fleet on the same site
  • Access by RFID card, app or contactless depending on the unit
  • Not locked to a single back office platform

The supply usually decides the specification

Chargers rarely all pull full power at once. Load management shares the spare capacity on your existing supply between the units instead of each one demanding its maximum, and that is very often the difference between installing the bays you want now and paying for a new connection.

Where an upgraded connection genuinely is needed we make the application to the network operator and track it through, because that lead time normally sets the programme for the whole job.

  • Bays share the spare capacity rather than each demanding full power
  • Frequently removes the need for a supply upgrade altogether
  • Spare capacity measured on site rather than estimated
  • Where an upgrade is needed, we handle the network operator application

The unit, the installation and the warranty sit together

We are Rolec's regional approved installer for the South of England. In practice that means direct technical support and current stock rather than whatever a wholesaler happens to be holding, and one number to call when something needs looking at instead of the installer pointing at the manufacturer.

It is a practical requirement rather than a badge. The grant schemes require the work to be done by an OZEV approved installer, and we are one.

  • Rolec's regional approved installer for the South of England
  • Current stock and direct manufacturer support
  • One company to call rather than two pointing at each other
  • OZEV approved, which the grant schemes require

Specified to the site, not from a catalogue

We come out, look at the supply, measure the runs and ask what you are trying to achieve. The unit follows from that. A site turning vehicles around in twenty minutes needs something completely different from one where vans sit overnight, and the right specification is very often not the biggest number in the brochure.

Where a site is likely to grow it is worth settling the phasing before the groundwork rather than after, because containment and cable capacity are cheap to oversize while the trenches are still open.

  • Cable routes and bay positions worked against your actual vehicle movements
  • Containment sized for the bays you will want, not only the ones going in now
  • A drawing, a specification and a fixed price before anything is ordered
  • We will say when a smaller unit is the right answer

Not sure which unit suits the site?

Send over the address and roughly what you are after. We will tell you what it involves and what it costs, with no obligation.
