EV charging point installation
EV charging point installation, from one bay to a rapid depot
We survey the site, design around the supply you already have, install it with our own electricians and keep it running afterwards.
Who we install for
Eight things we install, and the sites they suit
EV charging point installation for workplaces, fleet depots, landlords and managed property comes first, because that is where most of our work is. We do home installations and solar PV too.

01
Workplace EV charging
Chargers for staff, visitors and company cars, from one bay to a full car park.
Most workplace charging projects start with the same question, which is how many bays the site can actually take. That is a question about the incoming supply, not about the chargers, and it is the first thing we answer.

02
Fleet and depot charging
Charging that turns a fleet round overnight and keeps it moving in the day.
A depot is not a car park with more sockets. The vehicles come back in a pattern, they go out in a pattern, and the charging has to fit between the two without exceeding what the site can draw.

03
EV charging for landlords
Tenants are asking for it and buyers are starting to expect it.
Charging at a block of flats is a different problem from charging at a house. One supply, several leaseholders, a car park nobody individually owns, and a need for whoever uses the electricity to be the one who pays for it.

04
Rapid EV charger installation
For sites where the time a vehicle spends plugged in is the thing that matters.
Rapid charging is the right answer in a narrower set of cases than people expect, and the wrong answer in a lot of them. It earns its cost where a vehicle has to be back out quickly, or where charging is the reason someone stopped at all.

05
Solar PV and battery storage
Solar and battery storage fitted alongside the charging, as one energy setup.
Charging vehicles from the grid is fine. Charging them from your own roof is better, and on a commercial building with a large flat roof and vehicles parked under it all day, the two fit together unusually well.

06
Home EV charger installation
The cable run planned before we start, not worked out on the day.
Most complaints about home charger installations are not about the charger. They are about where the cable ended up, and that is a decision made in the first ten minutes of the visit if nobody planned it beforehand.

07
Business EV charging
Charging that bills correctly, reports properly and grows with the fleet.
Business EV charging covers a lot of ground, from a couple of bays outside a small office to a multi-site estate with a mixed fleet. What they share is that somebody has to account for the electricity, and that is usually what turns a simple installation into a complicated one.

08
EV charger repair
Remote diagnosis first, our own engineers second, and cover for sites that cannot afford a dead bay.
A charge point is a ten year asset that sits outdoors and gets used by people who did not buy it. Things go wrong with it, and what matters is how quickly somebody establishes what and puts it right.
Work it out
How long does a charge actually take?
Specify the charger to the vehicles and the turnaround you need, not to the biggest number in the brochure.
Charger speed
Three phase wall or post
Indicative only. The vehicle sets the ceiling, not the charger: a van whose on board charger tops out at 7.4kW gains nothing from a 22kW unit. Rapid DC also slows as the pack fills, which is why this is worked over 20 to 80 per cent rather than to full.
20 to 80 per cent takes about
1h 47m
≈ 71 miles added per hour
The 20 to 80 window, not nought to full
