Home EV Charger
Home EV charger installation, fitted where it suits the house
The cable run planned before we start, not worked out on the day.
What it involves
The charger is rarely the complaint
Most complaints about home charger installations are not about the charger. They are about where the cable ended up, and that is a decision made in the first ten minutes of the visit if nobody planned it beforehand.
We agree the route with you first. Where the unit goes, where the cable runs, what it crosses and how it is finished, so the job looks like it was meant to be there.

The cable route, agreed first
01
The cable route, agreed first
The unit needs to reach the car, and the cable needs to get from the consumer unit to the unit without going somewhere you will resent. On most houses there is a good answer and a lazy answer, and the difference is a conversation before anyone drills anything.
- Where the unit goes, so the lead reaches the car's port without stretching across a path
- The cable route and how it is finished, agreed before we start
- Whether the consumer unit needs any work to take the circuit
- What happens if you change car, or add a second one later
02
Units that suit the property
A charger is a box on the front of your house for the next ten years. The Rolec range includes compact units for tight spaces and the Zura with interchangeable covers, which on a period property is the difference between a charger you notice and one you do not.
03
Grants, where you qualify
The domestic grant landscape has narrowed and most homeowners with a driveway no longer qualify. There is still support for flats and for rented property, and where it applies we confirm it and handle the paperwork. Where it does not, we say so rather than implying a discount that is not coming.
04
Aftercare from the people who fitted it
If something goes wrong you speak to the company that did the work. Most faults are cleared remotely, and where a visit is needed it is one of our own electricians rather than a subcontractor who has never seen the installation.

Questions
What people ask us about this
Most are half a day. A longer cable route or work at the consumer unit can make it a full day, and we tell you which yours is before the visit rather than on the morning.
Wherever you and we agree before we start. That conversation is the difference between a tidy installation and one you resent, so we have it first rather than deciding on site.
For most homeowners with a driveway, no. Support has narrowed to flats and rented property. Where it does apply we confirm it and handle the paperwork, and where it does not we say so.
For most houses either the WallPod if space is tight or the Zura if you want app control and a cover that suits the building. If you may add a second vehicle, the twin outlet Zura saves installing twice.
We work across Surrey, West Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, East Sussex and Berkshire. Cobham is home, so most of the South East is a straightforward journey.
