Charge speed

How fast the Zura is

Where this unit sits against the rest of the range, by top output. Speed classes rather than a linear axis, because a wall unit and a rapid DC cabinet do not belong on the same straight line.

Bars are scaled by charging class rather than linearly, so the wall units stay readable next to rapid DC. Figures are each unit’s top output.

On the Zura

20 to 80 per cent, which is the window a fleet actually turns around in.

at 22kW

1h 47m

Indicative. A vehicle whose on-board charger is limited to 7.4kW gains nothing from a 22kW unit.

Installation

What fitting one actually involves

  1. 01

    What installing a Zura involves

On a house it is usually half a day. The work is a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit to the unit, the unit itself, and the cable route between them, which is the part worth agreeing before anyone starts.

On a development or a small car park it is the same unit but a shared supply design, with load management so the units share what is available.

  2. 02

    Single or twin outlet

The twin outlet version serves two vehicles from one unit, which on a two car household or a small staff car park saves installing twice. If a second vehicle is likely within a few years it is normally worth doing now.

  3. 03

    Making it suit the building

The interchangeable covers are the practical reason we specify the Zura on period and conservation area properties. A charger is a box on the front of a building for the next ten years, and on some houses that matters as much as the charging.

Zura in short

  • Charges at up to 22kW on three phase, or 7.4kW single phase
  • Single or twin outlet, so two cars can share one unit
  • Interchangeable front covers to suit the building
  • Start a charge by app, RFID card or fob

UltraCharge in short

  • Sold from 40kW up to 400kW, so the unit can be matched to the turnaround you actually need
  • The larger units are modular, so power can be added later in steps rather than replacing the cabinet
  • Two outputs that share the available power between vehicles automatically
  • Works across a 150V to 1000V range, so it suits older and newer vehicles
